What stays on your device
Your guesses, scores, streaks and stats are saved in your browser's local storage so the game remembers them tomorrow. They never leave your device unless noted below. Clearing your browser data wipes them.
What we receive
When you finish the daily puzzle, your browser sends your five guesses and the hints you used, along with a random ID it made up the first time you played. We use it only to count you once in the “How you compare” chart. The ID isn't linked to your name, email or anything else about you, and the daily totals are deleted after about four months.
Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser type, for a short time to run and protect the site.
If you create an account
Accounts are optional. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google and save them with your finished games (your guesses and scores), so you can see your results on any device. A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in. We don't get your Google password or anything else from your Google account. To delete your account and its data, email us at the address below.
What we don't do
No ads, no analytics or tracking scripts, and no cookies unless you sign in. We never sell or share data. Freeze Frame is not directed at children under 13.
